Josie Toney

Josie Toney is a versatile musician drawing from a deep familial background in traditional music. Hailing from Olympia, Washington, Josie now resides in Nashville, Tennessee.

In addition to being a sought-after private instructor, Toney has shared the stage with artists such as Old Crow Medicine Show, Nikki Lane, and Billy Strings. An accomplished fiddler in a variety of roots styles, she is also a compelling singer, songwriter, and guitarist, whose songs bring a taste of modernity to sounds that Americans have been enjoying for a century.

Josie toured internationally with Sierra Ferrell from 2021-2023, playing fiddle and singing harmony vocals, and has graced stages across the country, including Red Rocks, Newport Folk Fest, Bonnaroo, and the Ryman, and toured the US, Canada, and Australia.

Josie Toney is a graduate of The Berklee College of Music, where she received the Sam Eisenson Award for Country Music. In September of 2019 she won the FreshGrass fiddle championship.

Josie’s debut solo album Extra will be out everywhere April 7th, and features a full country band and her original songs.
